Description
What is a NEW 5G Antenna PCB Printed Antenna?
5G mobile networks can generally operate in various frequencies, requiring different antennas for different frequency bands. Because various frequencies are used to transport a signal for different applications, new 5G antenna specialized antennas and antenna concepts are required.
What is the New 5G?
5G is an umbrella term covering various networks, technologies, and applications. It is a standardization for mobile communication. The name 5G was coined by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as a “fifth-generation mobile communications system.”
To this end, the standardization organization 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) is advancing its 5G implementation with the International Mobile Telecommunication (IMT-2020) initiative.
In parallel, other standardization bodies, including the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) and the ITU, are working on a 5G specification.
5G technology is generally proposed to increase the rate of data communication while reducing the cost per unit of data service.
The key technologies announced so far, such as dense network deployment, multi-antenna array technology, user rates, transmit power, energy efficiency, and other key technologies are not related to 5G itself but can be solved within 4G.
The problems associated with the openness of the mobile network that 4G is subject to are still present in the 5G era, with dense network deployments being costly and only solving the point problem, not the surface problem.
A cheaper solution to the point problem is WIFI, which, because of its cost, does not require complex infrastructure such as base stations and network centers and is developing much faster than mobile technologies.
The 802.11ad standard can already achieve communication speeds of up to 5Gbps, and WIFI was born as a point solution, so there is no surface problem.
